Stampin’ Up! 25th Anniversary Convention and Incentive Trip – Part 2

I’m back with some more highlights from the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Utah a few weeks ago.  I wish I could express the whole experience on my blog but it would not only be difficult but also take up weeks of blogging.  So some highlights will have to be it. While I was there I got to carve my own stamp!  It was an odd experience at the time and this is how my inner voice went:

“why would I do this? I stamp because I can’t draw”
“I guess I could draw a heart shape”
“Errr, which side of the line do I carve out?”
“Okay this is starting to look like a stamp”
“hmmm, this could be addictive”
“OMG I made my own stamp!!!”

So there you go – a one off Angela exclusive stamp.  A little rustic but adds to the charm (cough cough) ;)

Momento Mall (where we could buy Stampin’ Up! merchandise) was a little different this year with demonstrators being able to preorder their merchandise.  I must say it was fantastic to be able to just go in and pick up some fun stuff without having to battle hoards of excited shoppers.  Look at this fun set of nail polishes I picked up for my daughter Jade.

Aren’t they fabulous?  They’re in the new Stampin’ Up! InColors: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloup, Costal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding.  I love those names!  Jade was ecstatic to get these polishes as some of the colours were already on her list of nail polish to buy from the shops anyway.

And now for something a little different. This is a photo of the Recognition Room (or the Room of Requirement as I kept accidentally calling it!).  It’s a place to chill out and relax and was set up exclusively for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who had achieved awards during the year.  You could go in and have a cool drink, nibble on some chocolate and have some fun photos taken of you with friends.  I was too busy talking (surprise surprise!) so I didn’t get any photos taken but I did grab a photo of the room for you.

What else? (shuffling through photos)… oh yes, here’s a shot of everyone leaving the main convention room on the evening before the awards and celebration night.

Insane isn’t it?  But even with all those people there it still didn’t feel overwhelming – maybe overwhelming with friendship and camaraderie but it didn’t feel ‘crowded’.

And a couple of photos from the after party.  Photos of everyone dancing have been left out to protect the innocent.  But rest assured that the Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrators (and staff!) partied hard with the Americans and Europeans while an 80’s cover band, The Spazmodics, played 80’s hits.

Look at that acrobat!  There was Cirque du Soleil style entertainment for us.  And the photo I have included on the right are a couple of the dancers that joined in on the dance floor.

That’s it for today.  I hope you enjoyed this post – next Convention post I promise to add some photos of actual creative things from Convention.  I’ll also be putting together some posts from the Incentive Trip.  See you soon!
